What to Expect at Home Meets

Volunteer roles may include timers or officials. Nancy will email specific assignments before each meet Spectators sit in the bleachers and cheer on the Tide with your loudest voice
The Association provides shakers and pom-poms; feel free to bring extras
Meets are usually streamed on ESPN+

We will teach new cheers throughout the season to build momentum for SECs and NCAA Championships

What to Expect at Away Meets

Travel rosters are finalized a few days before each meet
Confirm your athlete’s participation in advance
Hotel blocks are not provided during the regular season
Please book accommodations early if you plan to attend
Streaming is not guaranteed
Check Facebook for any live-stream or webcast details
Parents sit together, when possible, to amplify our Tide spirit on the road
Pom-poms and shakers will be supplied when logistics allow; bringing your own is encouraged
Any parent social events (lunches, dinners, tailgates) will be posted on Parents Facebook page

What to Expect at SEC & NCAA Championship Meets

When our swimmers and divers qualify for SECs or NCAAs, the experience changes—here is how to prepare and show your Alabama pride.

Athlete Roster and Eligibility

SEC and NCAA limit the number of athletes who can compete on site.
Not every swimmer/diver will make the travel roster.
Roster announcements typically arrive a few days before each championship.
Confirm with your student-athlete before making final plans.

Accomodations

This year Parent Association will not be blocking off hotel rooms for parents for SEC's it will be up to parents to make accommodation arrangements.
Please do not book rooms at the same hotel as the team.

Ticket Information

Qualified athletes’ families must purchase championship tickets
Nancy will email ticket instructions once the roster is finalized
Please wait for her message—do not email her about tickets beforehand

Seating & Spirit

Each university has a designated seating zone that rotates daily throughout the meet
Look for signs marking our crimson section
We will assign a “spirit color” for each day
Plan to wear that color—ordering details will follow when merchandise is available
Bring shakers, pom-poms, signs, and your loudest “ROLL TIDE ROLL!”
Our coordinated cheers create an electric atmosphere

Parent Social Events

Lunches, dinners, and tailgates for parents, friends, and family will be posted on Parents Facebook and as they are scheduled

Holiday Schedule

Thanksgiving Break

Team members may leave Wednesday, November 26th after practice ends at 8:00 am.
Team members should return for practice at 6:00am Monday December 1st.
Coach Margo is hosting Thanksgiving, team members that are staying in Tuscaloosa

are welcome to attend.

Christmas/December Break

Team members may leave Friday, December 19th after practice ends at 8:00 am.
Team members should return for 6:00 am practice on Saturday, December 27th.

Recruiting Trip Weekends

It is important during our Fall recruiting trips that all members of the team are present and participate in the weekend activities.

Please do not schedule anything to take place during the weekends listed below:

• August 29-30

• September 5-6

• October 3-4

Scooter Advisory

Coaches strongly recommend that athletes avoid using electric scooters as their daily mode of transportation. Data shows that 100% of individuals who do not ride scooters remain free of scooter-related injuries.

Coaches’ Recommendation:

Do not rely on electric scooters for everyday campus travel
Key Statistic Athletes who skip scooters have zero scooter-related injuries

Alternative Options

• Walk or jog between venues

• Use campus shuttles or bike-share programs

• Carpool with teammates when possible
